How To Get Rid Of The Entitlement Mentality In A Few Simple Steps

For years I’ve heard the media and experts spout off about how the country is doomed because of a entitlement mentality. This also extents to calling my generation a group of narcissists who can’t be bothered to set their phones down long enough to realize they’re driving into on coming traffic.

As much as I’d like to disagree with the full blown entitlement in our country or jump on the bandwagon, it’s not the entitled I blame. It’s the enablers who perpetuate this problem.

Three Simple Rules to Keep Republicans from Being Seduced by Dishonest and Orwellian Word Games

In this guest post, Cato Senior Fellow Dan Mitchell offers advice for Republicans looking to hold their ground against tax increases.

(This piece was originally posted on the International Liberty blog).

Those who had the misfortune of seeing President Obama go after “tax breaks for corporate jets” as part of his press conference may be wondering why he was attacking a provision that was in his so-called stimulus and enacted by a Democratic-controlled Congress in 2009.

But that’s just routine politics. The folks in the White House are probably laughing about screwing jet builders after collecting campaign money from them in exchange for that provision two years ago.

The more important thing to focus on is the way that the big spenders in the White House and elsewhere are trying to build support for a big tax increase by characterizing tax breaks as “spending in the tax code.” The left obviously hopes Republicans are so stupid that Orwellian word games are all that is needed to get them to acquiesce to legislation that would increase the amount of revenue going to Washington.

The Federal Reserve ADMITS that Its 12 Banks Are PRIVATE – Not Government – Entities

Much of the tens of trillions in bailout money and “easy” money from quantitative easing went to foreign banks (and see this, this and this).

Indeed, Ron Paul noted recently that one-third of all fed bailout loans – and essentially 100% of loans from the New York Fed – went to foreign banks.

The New York Fed is the most important Fed bank. As Bloomberg pointed out in 2009:

The New York Fed is one of 12 regional Federal Reserve banks and the one charged with monitoring capital markets. It is also managing $1.7 trillion [now up to at least $1.9 trillion] of emergency lending programs [and accepting collateral from the banks in return].

However, the country’s most powerful “agency” – the Federal Reserve – is actually no more federal than Federal Express. The Fed itself admitted (via Bloomberg):

While the Fed’s Washington-based Board of Governors is a federal agency subject to the Freedom of Information Act and other government rules, the New York Fed and other regional banks maintain they are separate institutions, owned by their member banks, and not subject to federal restrictions.

Abortionist Describes Her Joy at Pulling 23-Week-Old Unborn Babies Apart “Piece by Piece”

Pro-choice doesn’t mean “anti-life,” but “improves life,” according to one abortionist amplified by The Guardian. That is, if you don’t count the unborn baby’s life.

The Guardian recently published a piece by an anonymous abortionist arguing that, “Being an abortion doctor has taught me a lot about life.” In it, the female “doctor” wrote that her work makes her feel “elated” – work that includes removing a 23-week-old unborn baby “part by part” and searching for the “jelly-fish-like gestation sac” surrounding a five-week-old.

Why the media has broken down in the age of Trump

I’ve been a journalist for a long time. Long enough to know that it wasn’t always like this. There was a time not so long ago when journalists were trusted and admired. We were generally seen as trying to report the news in a fair and straightforward manner. Today, all that has changed. For that, we can blame the 2016 election or, more accurately, how some news organizations chose to cover it. Among the many firsts, last year’s election gave us the gobsmacking revelation that most of the mainstream media puts both thumbs on the scale — that most of what you read, watch and listen to is distorted by intentional bias and hostility. I have never seen anything like it. Not even close.
