#LeftyLogic

You have to admire the inconsistent hysteria of leftwing logic in the United States today. The entire ideology is premised on emotional responses where its acolytes typically say “I feel” instead of “I think,” which is one of the few things they say that does not contradict other things they say.

For example, leftwing logic will tell us that the GOP will kill 22 million people by allowing those people to opt out of Obamacare. But leftwing logic also tells us that the GOP is rushing through a plan to repeal Obamacare and no one knows what’s in it. But they are sure 22 million people will die.

Leftwing logic also tells us that old people need to die, as Bill Nye claims and progressives defend. But the GOP is bad for allegedly throwing grandma off a cliff.

The Perils of the Tribal Echo Chamber

It has been the case for some years now that it is all too possible to enclose oneself in a bubble and never encounter contrary opinions. Contrary to the exaggerations of some talk radio hosts, there is no deliberate conspiracy on the part of “the media” to fabricate the news or falsely report events.

Reporters and columnists, like all other human beings, have their biases and are fallible. Mistakes happen and exaggerations occur. Sometimes they are deliberate; often they are subconscious.

You Can Tell What Leftists Are Doing By What They Accuse Conservatives Of Doing

Suddenly the Democrats are coming out against their classic moves like cavorting with Russians to hack American elections and perjury (like you need a link), so who knows which of their foundational principles they will pull a 180 on and betray next: Climate scams? Free money for deadbeats? Jane Fonda?

The Real Reason Leftwing Groups Are Freaked Out by Trump’s EPA Pick

Leftwing groups are freaking out about Scott Pruitt, Oklahoma’s Attorney General and Donald Trump’s nominee for the EPA. It is safe to say that the collective meltdown over Pruitt is greater than over any other Trump pick. You probably have no idea why and it has nothing to do with climate change.

Superficially, progressives are saying that Pruitt is a climate change denier and has no business managing the agency he sued so often. But that’s just cover.

The real reason has everything to do with money.

Obama Admin Funneled Billions Into Left-Wing Activist Groups

As reported by Fox News on Wednesday, congressional investigators claim the Obama Administration funneled billions of dollars to left-wing activist groups—such as the National Council of La Raza, National Urban League and National Community Reinvestment Coalition—through a slush fund scheme of the Department of Justice.

“Findings spearheaded by the House Judiciary Committee point to a process shrouded in secrecy whereby monies were distributed to a labyrinth of nonprofit organizations involved with grass-roots activism,” reports Fox.

Ten Reasons Why I Am No Longer a Leftist

How far left was I? So far left my beloved uncle was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party in a Communist country. When I returned to his Slovak village to buy him a mass card, the priest refused to sell me one. So far left that a self-identified terrorist proposed marriage to me. So far left I was a two-time Peace Corps volunteer and I have a degree from UC Berkeley. So far left that my Teamster mother used to tell anyone who would listen that she voted for Gus Hall, Communist Party chairman, for president. I wore a button saying “Eat the Rich.” To me it wasn’t a metaphor.

I voted Republican in the last presidential election.

Below are the top ten reasons I am no longer a leftist. This is not a rigorous comparison of theories. This list is idiosyncratic, impressionistic, and intuitive. It’s an accounting of the milestones on my herky-jerky journey.

10) Huffiness.
